WELCOME
Thank you for visiting my profile. I've worn many hats in my lifetime. From foreman to pastor, and from pastor to counselor. I love watching God work in peoples lives and consider it an honor to be a part of that change in any way I can.
My Story
Diane and I have been married since 1987 and have four married daughters. We are blessed with eleven grandchildren. I received my master’s degree in theological studies as well as a master’s degree in counseling from Liberty University. Before coming to Lakewood, I was the director of rehabilitation and resident manager at Salvation Army and City Union Mission in Kansas City. I was also a teacher and counselor at Culpepper Juvenile Correctional Facility. It was there I developed a love and passion for helping those struggling to transition from unhealthy to healthy living. I learned the deep pain that often resonates through the hearts of those who've done horrible things. In the midst of their pain, God was able to help me direct them towards freedom and transition them to a healthier lifestyle.
Because of my work in juvenile corrections, I believe a meaningful life is never too late. I am most passionate about helping individuals and families through a faith based counseling approach of instruction, guidance, and insight. God can help us achieve meaning and purpose in life through personal development and emotional growth. And I will always come with a listening ear and an open heart.
I would love to meet with you if you are struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, marital conflicts, employment challenges, familial concerns, or re-entering society. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Level I Trauma Certified, EMDR trained, and certified in the Gottman Method for marital conflict.
