Ann's Anchor

Hello!

Thank you for visiting with me!

Fostering “next steps” in all areas of life defines my approach to counseling. My experience with childhood loss, a pervasive family history of depression and anxiety, and a recent diagnosis of ADHD have created opportunities to learn and grow personally and professionally.  A Christian foundation grounds my decisions personally and professionally. I believe God works powerfully through relationships and promises to guide us by taking “hold of (our) right hand,” stating firmly, “I will help you” (Isaiah 41:13 NIV).

My Story

Ann and her husband live in the metropolitan area. They recently moved from California to Kansas City, and the move was motivated by a desire to be more active in the lives of their children and grandchildren. She is proud to say her childhood and early adult life was spent in Northern Virginia near Washington, DC.

Ann and her husband Len were high school sweethearts. They married after college and have four adult children, and five grandchildren who are the joy of their lives and keep them on the move.

Ann received her masters degree from Concordia University and had the privilege of sitting under the guidance of Dr. John Townsend in Irvine, CA. Her training includes perspective in psychodynamic theory, character structure, Rational Emotive Behavior theory, and somatic treatments. She places a high value on continued learning to support clinical practice and maintaining a client centered approach to therapy. She has a heart for leading young women, working with parents and families of military, and bringing hope to the hurting.

Ann is under the supervision of Dr. Cary Corley (License 2014043322).
